Art Show
Well the art show was a success! I only chose three students to attend from my class and two out of three showed up so that was great. I would definitely do an art show at a school one day but plan for lots of organizing time so we aren't running around like crazy! It was wonderful to see all the excited children and parents who are even more excited than their kids. I for sure wasn't a big fan of the space we were in because of the industrial openness and limited spaces to hang the art but I think it still worked well. With all the people in the space it definitely livened it up. What I enjoyed most was all the wonderful ideas and projects that were used in the classes. The students enjoyed doing the art but I think 'the teachers' enjoyed it, maybe even more than the students :). Just want to add that I helped Erin and Flo finish up the lovely poster/sign, helped greet people and served cake for a part of the evening. Yay teamwork!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the art show. Although our space was less than ideal it did give us the opportunity to see how almost any space can be used to showcase the work of our students. I agree...I think us 'teachers' probably had the greatest fun of all looking at all the different works of art that were created.
I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of the art show. I have come away with so many great ideas. I didn't like the space for display at first, but when it filled up with people the essence of the space changed. It's nice to see our cohort in action with their students. I truly enjoyed myself
Here here to the enjoyment! I had soo much fun working with my students, and letting them find their inner creative being. They had so much fun. I would have liked to have seen them at the show, but travelling 7 hours, I didn't expect them.
It was great to see everyone's creative art ideas at the art show. I think this event turned out far better than I imagined and it was really nice to see all the student teachers interacting with their students and their parents. I thought the space worked pretty well for our art show needs. I was originally thinking that the space seemed a little industrial/contemporary but once all the people arrived it turned out to be a lot of fun.
